Cross Agricultural Engineering Ltd. is currently expanding the spray painting team and is seeking 1 candidate for a spray painter position who will also specialize in spraying new machinery. This is a full-time position and is based at the Cross factory in Rathangan, Co. Kildare.
About the Company:
Cross is a leading engineering company that specializes in the design and manufacturing of farm, biogas, commercial, and food processing machinery. We offer a top-of-the-range service as standard to all our customers and would like to offer that training to our apprentices who get the opportunity to work with us. Currently there are 40 staff working in a state-of-the-art factory. Cross currently has one spray painter, but due to the workload, there is the need for another spray painter.
About the job:
All machines are manufactured in-house in the Cross factory, and the steel never goes outside or gets rusty. This means no need for shot blasting. The machines are coated and washed in an acid wash before spraying. This is to remove any impurities from the metal before painting. After washing, the machine is brought to the heated spray booth where spraying occurs. At Cross we spray-paint all our own machines in-house. Cross uses a 2-pack airless paint system to coat the machines. This is carried out in a spray booth with air extraction and a filter system. The spray painter is also provided with an air-fed head mask while spraying.
The spray painting aspect of this job includes:
Spraying new machines with 2-pack primer
Spraying new machines with finish coat of 2-pack paint
Managing the spray booth oven system for baking paint
Mixing paint to suit the airless spray system
Pay: €37,000 - €51,480 per year over the course of a 2-year training programme

Past Education is not important
Must be willing to work as part of the spray painting team
